Noise Pop, SF Parks Alliance, and Iconic Venues Rickshaw Stop, Great American Music Hall, and Kilowatt Reveal Lineup for SF Live Free Summer Concerts

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – June 18, 2024 – Noise Pop Industries, the oldest home-grown independent music and arts promoter in the San Francisco Bay Area, and SF Live reveal lineup with artists curated by iconic SF music venues Rickshaw Stop, Great American Music Hall, and Kilowatt. The shows take place on July 27, August 17 and September 7, and are located at outdoor venues in Crane Cove, China Basin Park and Potrero Del Sol Park. These concerts are family friendly and free to attend, thanks to a $2.5 million investment from the California State Legislature that was secured by City Attorney David Chiu when he was an Assemblymember. This initiative is supported by Mayor London N. Breed and the San Francisco Office of Economic and Workforce Development.

Each SF Live concert is thoughtfully curated by organizers from historic San Francisco music venues, presenting a unique combination of artists that showcases the broad spectrum of San Francisco artistry. Noise Pop Industries, since 1993, has been a cornerstone of the San Francisco Bay Area music and arts scene, known for its innovative multi-venue festivals and for showcasing early performances by artists such as The White Stripes, Modest Mouse, Joanna Newsom, and many more.

Michelle Swing, CEO of Noise Pop Industries, shares her excitement with the announcement of the shows they are producing, "It's been fantastic bringing this series to life with these independent venues that contribute immensely to the San Francisco music scene and culture. We wanted to create something that would get the city excited and for each show to have its own unique flavor. Great American Music Hall, Rickshaw Stop, and Kilowatt took the lead in curating the lineups and knocked it out of the park. We hope this series reminds people why San Francisco is such a special place for live music and the important role that these incredible local and independent venues play in making it happen."

About Kilowatt

Opening in 1994 in a San Francisco Firehouse as a Local Hangout & Music Venue, Kilowatt found its way to being a neighborhood bar. After 3 years as a punk/rock/indie showcase, and the original home to San Francisco’s annual Noise Pop Festival, the hard decision was made to convert the stage into a Darts area given the changing demographics of the neighborhood and its clientele, adding televisions for local sports, pool tables and more…

Now under new ownership, the music is on its way back with weekly live music shows and dj nights featuring your favorite local and touring acts, tasty craft brews, an amazing assortment of liquor and your favorite neighborhood bartenders and friends bringing the party back to 16th Street.

About The Great American Music Hall
The Great American Music Hall is a concert hall in San Francisco. It is located on O'Farrell Street in the Tenderloin neighborhood on the same block as the Mitchell Brothers O'Farrell Theatre. It is known for its decorative balconies, columns, and frescoes and for its history of unique entertainment, which has included burlesque dancing as well as jazz, folk music, and rock and roll concerts.

About the Artists:

Eagles of Death Metal:

Eagles of Death Metal is an American rock band from Palm Desert, California, founded in 1998 by best friends Jesse Hughes and Joshua Homme. The group has included a wide range of other musicians that appear on the band’s studio albums and live shows. Despite their band name, Eagles of Death Metal is not a death metal band and is intended to be humorous. With a sound that's a combination of “bluegrass slide guitar mixed with stripper drum beats and Canned Heat vocals," and a frontman in Hughes who is known for his over-the-top stage histrionics and evangelistic interaction with his fans, the band’s live performances are a sight to be seen.

Sudan Archives:

As Sudan Archives, Brittney Parks has combined left-field strains of R&B, hip-hop, and experimental electronic music with hypnotic string loops and the fiddling style of West Africa, as heard on her critically acclaimed album Natural Brown Prom Queen (2022).  The self-taught violinist, singer, songwriter, and producer started playing violin in her native Cincinnati, Ohio. After Parks moved to Los Angeles to study music technology, she started producing beats on a tablet computer with the addition of her vocals and strings, the latter increasingly inspired by immersion in Sudanese music. “A swaggering statement of intent with all the idiosyncratic charm that makes her music so memorable” – Pitchfork (Best New Album, 2022) www.sudanarchives.com

Jerry Harrison and Adrian Belew - Remain in Light:

Jerry Harrison is the keyboardist and guitar player for legendary band Talking Heads. He is a member of the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame, and the recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Grammy in 2021. Jerry has multiple critically acclaimed solo albums, including Casual Gods. Additionally, he has an illustrious career as a record producer, working with everyone from Foo Fighters, No Doubt, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, and Live, amongst many others. Prior to joining Talking Heads, Jerry was a member of proto-punk pioneers The Modern Lovers.
