Opening the night is Alvon Johnson— a remarkably versatile artist, world traveler, and frontman of an iconic big band that delivers fresh takes on jazz standards and the classic hits Alvon sang with The Coasters. Fun fact: in Russia, Alvon is celebrated as the "King of the Blues" and the "Ambassador of the Blues," showcasing his broad appeal and exceptional talent.
Closing off the night is the West Grand Brass Band. This dynamic group of six musicians from Oakland blends traditional brass band music with modern styles, creating an ever-evolving mix of classic tunes, innovative covers, and original compositions. Known for their energetic performances, WGBB turns every venue into a lively celebration, ensuring an unforgettable night that you won’t want to miss!

SF Live is a six-month series of free, outdoor music concerts put on as a joint, citywide initiative by esteemed San Francisco arts & music producers Illuminate, San Francisco Parks Alliance, Noise Pop Productions, and Union Square Alliance. Created as a love letter to San Francisco music, SF Live concerts are a coming together of San Francisco’s storied musical history and the city’s promising and developing local talent.

Alvon Johnson is one of the most versatile musicians, singers, and entertainers on the music scene today. He travels the world singing and swinging jazz standards with Big Bands. He also gallops the globe performing the songs that he performed while working with the rock and roll hall of fame group, The Coasters. When he travels to Russia he is referred to as the “King of the Blues” and the “Ambassador of the Blues”.
6:30 PM - West Grand Brass Band
West Grand Brass Band (WGBB) is a group of 6 talented independent musicians that combines the brass band tradition with modern musical styles and timbres. Their music takes the form of an ever changing mix of traditional songs, re-imagined covers, and genre-expanding originals. Based in the cultural hub of Oakland, California, WGBB prides itself in creating a party wherever they perform, from bars and breweries to weddings and parades.
